Helping Teens to Think Beyond Language

Research shows that teaching teenagers successfully goes beyond building strong language skills, which is why THiNK offers a holistic approach to learning, giving your students not only the language but also the skills they need for academic and lifelong success.

THiNK sections throughout the course systematically develop student’s thinking skills, encourage them to reflect on positive social values, and help develop a stronger sense of self-esteem, which in turn fosters the positive attitudes and behaviour needed for effective learning.

The reading and listening texts are carefully chosen to engage students emotionally as well to provide the right level of cognitive challenge. The texts often embody inspirational human qualities that teenagers aspire to, like creativity, courage and perseverance, making the learning experience more memorable and meaningful for them.

In the following webinar recording, THiNK author, Herbert Puchta, demonstrates how teachers of teens can confront some of the biggest challenges they face by going beyond language teaching. When you help teens develop critical thinking skills and self-esteem, you help them build stronger language skills.
